North American solar PPAs rise 3% in Q2

LevelTen Energy released its 'PPA Price Index Report' for the second quarter of 2024, showing a 3% increase in solar PPA prices after a 1% decrease in the first quarter. The report highlighted upward pressure on North American solar PPA prices due to various factors like long interconnection queues, permitting difficulties, tariffs on Chinese PV components, and an AD/CVD investigation. Additionally, the report mentioned a 7% increase in wind PPA prices. LevelTen noted market participants' efforts to mitigate risks through innovative contractual elements like conditions precedent (CP) and indexation in PPA contracts.
