Organic solar cell based on trichlorobenzene achieves 19.31% efficiency

A research team from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University developed a novel ISM strategy to enhance power-conversion efficiency and reduce non-radiative recombination losses in organic photovoltaic cells. By using 1,3,5-trichlorobenzene as a crystallization regulator, they optimized the morphology of organic solar cells and improved crystallization dynamics. Their innovative approach led to an impressive 19.31% power conversion efficiency and low non-radiative recombination loss, setting a new record for binary organic solar cells.
