Philippines government fast-tracks ‘world’s largest’ solar and storage project with 4.5GWh BESS

The Board of Investments in the Philippines has given a 'green lane certificate' for the Terra Solar project, the largest in the world, pairing 3,500MW of solar PV with a 4,500MWh battery energy storage system. The project, valued at PHP185 billion, is being developed by Terra Solar Philippines, co-owned by SP New Energy Corporation and Manila Electric Company. It aims to reach commercial operations by 2026. The project also received a Certificate of Energy Project of National Significance and was previously proposed by Enrique K Razon.
