Recurrent Energy makes initial closing on BlackRock investment

BlackRock's investment in Recurrent Energy allows the company to shift to an independent power producer. Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar, is set to receive a $500 million investment from BlackRock. This partnership aims to expand solar and battery energy storage projects in Europe and the US, with a long-term goal of 4GW of solar PV and 2GWh of storage capacity by 2026.
