RES seeks permit to install 49.9-MW battery in Devon

RES Group is seeking permission to install a 49.9-MW battery energy storage system in Devon, Southwest England. The proposal has been lodged with the Torridge District Council for review. The facility will help balance fluctuations in electricity demand and generation and will connect to a 132-kV overhead powerline. RES has experience in the battery storage sector for about 10 years and has developed over 700MW of projects in the UK and Ireland.
