Scientists from the School of Engineering of the HKUST have revealed the impact of surface concavities on perovskite thin films, affecting the efficiency and stability of perovskite cells. They used a surfactant molecule to remove concavities, resulting in enhanced power conversion efficiency. Prof. Zhou Yuanyuan highlighted the importance of grain surface concavities in the performance of perovskite semiconductors and solar cells.
