Serbia is analyzing the impact of the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and considering options for taxing CO2 emissions. Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović is leading Serbia's efforts to align with EU regulations, integrating with the single European electricity market. Serbia is exploring different options including a national level tax on CO2 emissions. The Energy Community is collaborating with representatives of the European Commission to enhance regional cooperation and support energy transition goals.
