Skyborn Sweden has submitted a permit application to the Swedish government and Land and Environment court for the construction of the 3000MW Polargrund Offshore wind farm. The wind farm, located 35 kilometres off the coast, is expected to generate up to 10TWh fossil-free electricity upon completion, which would be enough to power over 7% of Sweden's current electricity consumption. The project aims to meet the increasing demand for cleaner operations in Norrbotten's industries. Niclas Broman, the chief executive of Skyborn Sweden, emphasizes the importance of the Polargrund Offshore project for enabling Sweden's transition towards net-zero emissions and supporting the development plans in Norrbotten. Skyborn's commitment to a robust Swedish energy system is evident through its portfolio of offshore wind farms.
