Tokyo Gas invests in Portuguese floater

Tokyo Gas invested in the 25MW WindFloat floating offshore wind farm off Portugal, operated by Windplus, a majority owned subsidiary of Ocean Winds. The investment signifies a new collaboration milestone between Tokyo Gas and Ocean Winds, who are both co-shareholders in Principle Power. This marks Tokyo Gas's initial direct investment in an overseas floating offshore wind power project. The WindFloat Atlantic wind farm utilizes the WindFloat technology, with three 8.4MW wind turbines. Kimoto Kentaro, Tokyo Gas Representative Corporate Executive Officer, expressed satisfaction in strengthening the partnership with Ocean Winds through participation in WindFloat Atlantic. Craig Windram, CEO of Ocean Winds, welcomed Tokyo Gas to their long history in developing, building, and operating WindFloat Atlantic, looking forward to advancing floating offshore wind development in Japan and contributing to the country's renewable energy goals.
