TotalEnergies decides to invest 100-MW German battery project

French energy major TotalEnergies SE has decided to invest over EUR 75 million in a 100-MW/200-MWh battery energy storage system project in Germany, using lithium-iron-phosphate technology. The project involves TotalEnergies' affiliate Saft and Quadra Energy, a German aggregator of renewable power production. The project marks the first collaboration between TotalEnergies and German battery storage developer Kyon Energy, acquired by TotalEnergies in 2024. TotalEnergies aims to accelerate its development in the German electricity market, the largest in Europe.
