Voltalia to build 126MW PV plant in Uzbekistan, signs 500MW/1,000MWh BESS complex deal

French renewables company Voltalia has started a 126MW solar PV project in Uzbekistan, with financing from EBRD and JICA. The company has signed partnership agreements to deploy battery energy storage systems in Uzbekistan. Voltalia aims to strengthen its presence in Uzbekistan through long-term sales contracts for storage projects. Uzbekistan plans to have 12GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, with a focus on solar PV. UAE's Masdar is also involved in PV and battery storage projects in Uzbekistan.
