Wind farms provide 35% of Ireland’s electricity

The May Wind Energy report in Ireland shows that wind farms provided 35% of the country’s electricity over the first five months of 2024. Ireland had nearly 30% of its electricity supplied by renewable sources, such as wind and solar power, in May. Wind farms, along with solar power, significantly reduce Ireland’s reliance on imported fossil fuels, pushing down wholesale electricity prices and increasing the supply of clean energy.
