37MW Portuguese PV sites power up

The completion of Iberdrola’s Montechoro 1 and 2 solar plants in the Algarve region of southern Portugal have enhanced renewable energy production capacity in Portugal. With an annual capacity of 56.84GWh, the projects will supply energy to 19,000 households and avoid 21 million tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. The total investment of €30m has created around 200 jobs and supported the local economy. Iberdrola reaffirms its commitment to biodiversity protection and plans to expand its green energy production portfolio in Portugal to promote energy autonomy and sustainability.
